Recently, multi-hop communication has been introduced in next generation wireless networks to extend the service coverage area and to improve the wireless transmission capacity. In this chapter, we study several modeling tools mainly used to evaluate the performance of wireless multi-hop networks. We investigate three aspects of modeling tools: 1) stochastic modeling based on Markov-chain, 2) conflict graph particularly graph coloring, 3) asymptotic approaches for large-scale networks.
