The amazing game Minecraft produces natural landscapes that look different every time you play. However, Minecraft is played not only in forests and on mountains but also — if you get lucky while exploring — in useful structures such as bustling villages, treasure-filled pyramids, or dangerous dungeons. This chapter helps you find and benefit from these structures to enhance your experience.

Trading in Villages

A village is a group of structures — such as hovels, smithies, churches and roads — arranged as a community for its residents, as shown in Figure 8-1. A village can appear as a plain or a desert (with a different motif for each one), and its inhabitants can prove helpful to you.

Exploring village features

Villages are composed of several different structures, each of which can be useful. Some of the components of a village are described in Table 8-1.
