Chapter 3. SOME BASIC THINKING MODELS
It's now time to begin building on the seven facts reviewed in the two preceding chapters. Be forewarned, though, that this chapter involves a bit of math. Since I've always found it easier to understand math and statistics when they're presented in pictures, I'll follow that model here. Most of the ideas are in the form of charts and graphs. Readers who wish more will find plenty of references to more detailed sources throughout the rest of the book.
Here's my promise: get through this, and the rest of the book will be a breeze. Grasp it, and you'll have thinking models to use in considering your own organization's recruiting and hiring practices. The real payoff will be in gaining a better framework for thinking ...
