Meet Your New File System
Everyone loves USB thumb drives. Their ease of use and convenience makes them indispensible for those of us who enjoy sharing a program, some photos, or a playlist. But people today want to share more than just a few small files, and they can with larger thumb drives. As thumb drives grow bigger in capacity, however, the file system becomes a problem.
The file system we have used for years on thumb drives, FAT32, does not work on drives larger than 2 terabytes (TB). Worse, FAT32 limits file size to 4 gigabytes (GB). Now that you can find many thumb drives larger than 2 GB, Microsoft wisely developed a replacement for FAT32.
