Host Hardening
In the previous module, we discussed some of the various threats that can affect hosts and networks. In this module, as well as the next one, we are going to look at how to protect your hosts. Keep in mind that hosts are pretty much anything that processes data or may be able to acquire an IP address on a network. So the definition of hosts includes not only computers, but also servers, laptops, tablets, and even smartphones. Hosts can also include items that you might not otherwise consider computers; some of these things are even classified in a category known as the Internet of Things.
