Using Web-Based E-Mail Securely
Web-based e-mail systems such as MSN Hotmail, Gmail, or Yahoo! Mail offer you the convenience of being able to send and receive messages from any computer connected to the Internet, anywhere in the world. This ability is a genuine convenience when you're traveling without a computer of your own; you can sit down at any computer, including those in public libraries or Internet cafés, and catch up with your e-mail. If you use one of these services on a public or shared computer, however, you need to take a few precautions that you might not consider necessary at home:
Be sure the system does not cache your logon credentials.
Be sure to sign out explicitly when you've finished using an e-mail system.
