Chapter 26. Failover Clustering Installation and Configuration
In recent years, computer systems have become more and more reliable. However, systems are still subject to failures. In order to speed the recovery from these failures and provide higher availability, Microsoft has developed the failover cluster. The failover cluster is designed to restart Microsoft Windows and Microsoft SQL Server quickly to resume normal operations as soon as possible. Failover clusters are useful for both hardware and software failures.
