Using the XLV and DFWP to Add Ratings to Blogs
The out-of-the-box blog site templates in SharePoint 2010 are an improvement over the same in SharePoint 2007. However, the one feature lacking is the ratings content, or scale, against each post. I suspect the most likely reason for this is that the template is a foundation template, used by both the 2010 server and foundation versions. Obviously, SharePoint Foundation 2010 does not include the rating control; it is only available in server. Although you can enable content ratings on the blog’s post list, the rating indicators do not appear in the blog post summary on the default.aspx page of a blog site, nor is it obvious to others visiting the blog how they can add ratings to blog posts.
