Aggregating List Data with SPDataSource

A major strength of working with the DFWP is the SPDataSource control, an ASP.NET 2.0 data source control for SharePoint list data. By modifying SPDataSource properties, you can gather and aggregate list data either from within the current site (Web) or throughout an entire site collection. For instance, the SPDataSource parameter includes the following data source modes:

• ListOfLists: Show all lists in a Web

• Webs: Show all Webs in a site collection

• List or ListItem: Show details relating to a list item such as fields (this is the default mode for SPDataSource)

• CrossList: Show data from all lists of a certain type in a site collection
