Adding Background Images to Content Pages

A question I often receive is “How do I add a background image to my SharePoint pages?” I usually recommend using CSS to add background images, which you can accomplish on a global basis by adding relevant CSS styles to the CSS file associated with the site’s master page (see Chapter 17, “Creating New SharePoint Master Pages,” and Chapter 16) or on a page-by-page basis by adding CSS styles inline or via a hidden content editor Web part.
