Site Settings
Every subsite within a SharePoint site collection includes its own Site Settings page, which is accessed either via the Site Actions menu or by adding the URL parameter of /_layouts/settings.aspx immediately after the site name, such as http://sitename/_layouts/settings.aspx.
The site settings page includes options for managing site permissions, setting a site’s look and feel, managing content types, and many other administrative features. The root site of each SharePoint site collection also includes an additional tier of site administration known as site collection administration. Only those who are site collection administrators have visibility of site collection administration.
