Backup and Restore Strategies
Your backup and restore strategy should be defined before your system design is completed. The availability and recoverability levels of your SharePoint Server 2007 content can greatly affect how you architect and implement your solution. If you haven’t backed up your content, you won’t be able to restore it. If you are running nightly backups, you can’t restore content deleted mid-day.
