Developer’s Role in SharePoint
With the separation of content from infrastructure, the developer’s role in SharePoint programming is different than traditional ASP.NET Web sites. Many areas of the Web site are handled by SharePoint Products and Technologies; security, navigation, style sheets, and browser detection are the most prominent. And, as we’ve just discussed, the majority of the content on the Web site is created by information workers. The primary effort of developers in a SharePoint environment is the creation of infrastructure components that support the content.
