Removing Servers from Your Farm
How you remove a server from the farm will depend on the future use of the server. In both instances, if you have other members of the farm, you should modify the roles of the members before removing a server that supports a critical role.
If you want to move a server from one farm to another, run the Configuration Wizard and choose to disconnect from the configuration database. You can now run the wizard again and connect to another configuration database to join the new farm or create a new configuration database for a new farm.
