Publishing InfoPath Form Templates
InfoPath form templates are intended to be used by many people. It is possible to distribute InfoPath form templates by email to selected individuals, but the more common way to distribute InfoPath form templates is to publish them to a URL that is accessible to a potential user of the InfoPath form template.
An InfoPath form can be published to a conventional Web site or to a SharePoint forms library. If it's published to a conventional Web site, clicking a link to the form template in Internet Explorer will cause the InfoPath client to open automatically so that the user can fill in the form.
