Using Desktop Passthrough
Microsoft ActiveSync is an application shipped for the desktop Windows operating system to support connecting and synchronizing devices that run Windows Mobile. In the Windows Vista operating system, ActiveSync received a face-lift and is now called the Windows Mobile Device Center—but it is still the same ActiveSync technology under the hood. In this book, we use the term ActiveSync to mean both Windows Mobile Device Center in Windows Vista and ActiveSync in earlier operating systems.
