The Mailbox Replication service
The Exchange Mailbox Replication service (MRS) is the service that is responsible for processing move, import, export, and restore requests. In Exchange 2013, the MRS runs on every Mailbox server rather than on the Client Access Server (CAS), as is the case in Exchange 2010. The name of the MRS process is MSExchangeMailboxReplication.exe, sometimes confused with the database replication used with Database Availability Groups (DAGs; MSExchangeReplication.exe), but they are separate and very different processes.
