Summary
This chapter brought you up to speed on the storage and transport architecture used in Exchange Server 2007. You learned, for example, that the Store.exe process can manage many databases on a single server and that databases are divided into stores, each of which can hold up to 50 databases. You also learned that maxing out the number of stores in a storage group is not considered a best practice. Importantly, you also learned some design tips for your storage infrastructure. Finally, you were provided with a routing overview explaining how Exchange Server 2007 gets messages to different places in your organization.
