Storage Design Goals in Exchange Server 2007
The storage architecture of Exchange Server 2007 has three goals. The first goal is to allow a single server to host more users than is pragmatically possible in 32-bit versions of Microsoft Exchange Server, thus driving down the overall cost of storage. Storage alone can consume up to 80 percent of an Exchange project’s budget.
