The following are best practices from this chapter:

• Use the Identity Integration Feature Pack version of MIIS 2003 for synchronizing information between various versions of Active Directory.

• Use the Enterprise version of MIIS 2003 for synchronization between non-AD directories, such as Novell eDirectory, LDAP, and Unix directories.

• Consider Services for NetWare when synching directories or integrating a Novell NetWare environment with Exchange Server 2003.

• Deploy Services for Unix to integrate Unix directories and functionality into an Exchange Server 2003 environment.

• Use Account Provisioning in MIIS 2003 to reduce the overhead associated with creating and deleting user accounts.
