Simulation of Micro Cross Wedge Rolling
Abstract
This chapter presents the simulation of micro cross wedge rolling (MCWR). A novel material model is developed based on Hall–Petch relationship, surface layer and composite model with grained heterogeneity. The metal polycrystalline is represented by a 3D Voronoi tessellation to capture the heterogeneity of grain size and shape. Hardness of the grains obtained from Nanoindentation is used to identify the scatter of grained deformability. The influences of grain size and feature size on the deformation behavior are discussed. The numerical simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental results in terms of the flow stress curves and profile of deformed parts. Based on the novel ...
