Using Scorecards and Dashboards: Working the Plan

The week went well, and the data were flowing. By Wednesday evening, the scorecard looked like this:

Bill caught up with Joe on Thursday morning, and said, “Joe we’ve been talking a bit, the numbers are all good, but there is no feeling for if we are doing well or not, you know, are we meeting the goals? Even on the golf course we have ‘Par’ for the hole, something to shoot for.” Joe said, “You’re right! We talked about this in my recent class and with Larry. I’ll put some goals on the scorecard, and use some visual indicators to show if we’re doing good or bad.”
