Just as the whistle blew to start the second half, there was a loud “POP,”and the lights went out in the gymnasium. It was the season finale of the championship basketball game between the Supply Chain Hoopsters and the D-Line Production teams. The groans of the faithful crowd of coworkers could be heard through the pitch-black darkness. As the generator kicked in, the lights began to flicker an eerie orange glow. The game would go on.
“The game can go on when the scoreboard starts working,” said Jim, the official scorekeeper.
