CHAPTER 6 Programming a Media Server from a Lighting Console
Playing back clips from a media server can be accomplished in a variety of ways, and will vary slightly between manufacturers. Some allow the lighting programmer to create and store scenes on the media server itself and then to trigger those presets from the lighting console; other media servers allow the programmer direct access to its attributes from a lighting console via DMX channels, and the programmer records the looks directly into cues on the console. In this chapter we take a closer look at all the methods of using DMX to control a media server.
