Below are some common issues that may arise when working with a media server.

Content Related Issues

  • Symptom: video won’t play or plays but with unexpected problems

    Solution: wrong codec, wrong resolution, wrong format, or simply file may be too large for the GPU to process efficiently. Re-formatting with a different codec may be the best solution.

  • Symptom: video looks pixelated

    Solution: possibly low resolution source material, or image is scaled at a higher resolution than the content was created at, causing the pixels to be stretched. Try reducing the amount of scale being applied to the image, or find a higher resolution image.
