1. A, B, C, E, F. Performance Monitor can be used to perform all of these tasks except for terminating misbehaving applications, which you can do from Task Manager. Note that the action of generating alerts when unusual conditions occur uses the data collector set capability, which is a component of Performance Monitor.
2. A. Performance Monitor uses the term object to denote a specific hardware or software component that it is capable of monitoring. A counter specifies one of a series of statistical measurements associated with each object. An instance refers to multiple occurrences of a given object, such as two discrete hard disks. The term component does not have a specific meaning associated with it in Performance Monitor.
