Exporting a support bundle

For diagnosing and troubleshooting purposes, you can export a support bundle that contains the log files of the running vCenter Server instance. The bundle can be submitted to VMware support for assistance or analyzed locally in your machine.

To export the log files, proceed as follows:

  1. Log in as root to the VAMI and go to the Summary tab
  2. Click on the Create Support Bundle button to save the bundle in .tgz format somewhere on your local machine:
To receive tech support from VMware, you need to submit a bundle you create from the Create Support Bundle button
