SQL Server and the .NET Client
As a SQL Server administrator or developer, you do not care about the details of how to program data access to SQL Server. Unless you are also wearing the client developer hat, it just is not relevant. However, we think that it is very important for the SQL Server professional to be aware of what is happening on the client side. How is your SQL Server database accessed by client applications or a data access layer in a multi-tier application? An inquisitive database professional should know these things, because they might affect data security, integrity, or performance.
