Visualizing a Business*
In this chapter, a DSM spreadsheet is used to represent business process elements, map their dependencies, and design alternatives.
To enable business units to work together we need to understand how they depend on each other. Obviously, engineering, manufacturing, and marketing cannot all occur at the same time. If we forget time and tasks for a moment and just consider the relationship of needs, we can actually map the problem.
