Reviews That Add Value

A DSM spreadsheet can be a powerful tool when we are planning a project life cycle—what occurs in what phases and where management reviews are necessary. We can schedule reviews so they occur when they add the most value.

Many projects are organized in groups of tasks or major phases. When project reviews are scheduled at the end of each phase, verification becomes the gateway to entering the next phase. Whenever verification is a gateway to entering the next phase, a project can be locked into an unnecessarily lengthened schedule.
