The role of the fourth estate in a vibrant democracy like India cannot be overstated. India’s large and dynamic media market boasts of thousands of newspapers, several hundred news channels and innumerable news websites. Yet, increasingly, we hear of a growing concern about the quality of journalism on offer.
As media educators, it is our ardent hope that young, budding journalists can overturn these fears and delve deep into their subject matter to provide the public with an in-depth, objective and contextual account of what is happening on the ground.
