Foreword

Twenty-five years ago, I picked up a book called Mastering AutoCAD, by George Omura. I was just out of college and working as a draftsman in a large architectural firm in New York City. Under the theory that “these young kids seem to like computers,” I was assigned to learn CAD up on the ninth floor. Four computers, one pen plotter, and a whole bunch of 5¼″ floppies for project backup, and it felt like we were on the cutting edge of computing and building design.
