The size and quality of source images can vary greatly, and they often end up being integrated into compositions that bear no resemblance to the original artwork. This process starts by removing unwanted content. This involves trimming peripheral details, fixing imperfections, and correcting tone and colors to ensure our source imagery is in good shape for further editing or integration elsewhere.
In this chapter, we’ll focus on cropping techniques, which allow you to trim unwanted edge details precisely and correct crooked photos. We’ll extend the canvas using techniques that allow you to transform image orientation while seamlessly filling new regions with image content.
