Preface

Projects have a high fatality rate. Like salmon swimming upstream, more die than live. For each failure, what follows is usually a legacy of anger, hurt, frustration, finger pointing, infighting, and sometimes worse. Even if a project partially succeeds, that is, it meets some of its objectives, the consequences can be severe.

During my 25 years plus in the “fog” of project management in a corporate environment, I have managed to survive many projects, even one or two on the brink of failure. I have also been brought on board to turn around projects deemed as being in trouble. Based upon my knowledge and experience, I have discovered five key secrets to turn around the most difficult project.
