Introduction

This chapter explains how to build KM into a single project, without any support for KM from a PMO or business as usual team – and with only basic, end-of-project KM activities in your organisation’s project management framework.

We take you through a series of steps, from project initiation to benefits realisation, and highlight the main KM considerations at each stage. It’s the closest thing to a KM recipe that we can write without oversimplifying KM. The steps are summarised at the end of the chapter.
