In this section we move into the area of selection in the core process model. Making decisions of this kind is not simple because of the underlying uncertainty involved – so which approaches, tools and techniques can we bring to bear? Chapter 8 picks up another core theme – how to build an innovation plan. This demands an understanding of the dynamics of forecasting and diffusion of market and technological innovations, and the assessment of the risk and resources involved.
