Controls in Place to Reduce Risks
Having completed the Safety Controls Checklist 9 and identified different ways to control hazards and reduce the likelihood that anyone will be harmed by them, you are, of course, an expert now in this process! However, as we have seen, health hazards are not always so easily recognized. Often, controls in place are taken for granted or assumed to be more effective than they actually are.
Using Checklist 12 to organize details about hazards identified, existing controls, and any further control features you may need to introduce. We will use the same headings as in Chapter 9 to identify the possible types of control already in place, so you can use the same abbreviations as before (see below).
