2.1 Introduction

Sustainability involves a balancing act between economic, environmental and social elements. The challenge for management is to achieve outcomes for both business and society without causing ecological degradation – whilst delivering economic sustainability priorities of “quality, Kaizen” and “innovation; protection of the environment”; improving human rights; and cooperating with society to fulfil obligations of citizenship (Wang et al. 2012; Bakoğlu and Yıldırım 2016).
