RULE 38 Build Your Schedule Around the Board
Someone once asked General George C. Marshall to identify the traits of successful people. His illuminating seven-point list is summed up below:
• Reading only summaries of reports, rather than the “long-winded” documents themselves.
• Reading quickly and committing to constant improvement of one’s reading skills.
• Not spending time reviewing decisions that have already been made, but focusing instead on the best ways to implement decisions.
• Expanding one’s base of knowledge relevant to current problems.
• Beginning the day early in the morning.
• Taking a nap in the middle of the day.
• Not allowing oneself to worry.
That’s an excellent list! I would add only one item to the general’s outline. ...
