Chapter 6. Working with Links
Hyperlinks, or more commonly just called links, are the lifeblood of Web pages, and Macromedia Contribute gives you a rich set of tools you can use to link to the Web pages on your site, Web addresses of pages on other sites, email addresses, non-HTML files on your Web server, and more. Contribute can create links from text or graphics on the pages you are editing to any of the preceding destinations.
Links consist of two parts: the text or image (sometimes called the hot spot) that the user of your Web page sees and clicks; and the URL, or Uniform Resource Locator, which is the address that tells the browser where to go to follow the link.
