The System Architecture
The defining characteristic of Mac OS X is the overall consistency from the system, through all the application programs you might load onto your Mac. The obvious similarity of operations is retained, which means you rapidly gain familiarity with where you expect to find things. Though you do have to get to know where they are in the first place!
