Delete junk mail without ever seeing it!
Mail has a junk mail filter that can toss your spam automatically. Actually, while in “training,” it will put spam in a special brown “Junk” folder where you can check to make sure messages really are garbage before you toss them. Once you are confident it's doing a good job, use the rules described above to delete junk mail immediately.
To turn on Junk Mail filtering, go to the Preferences pane (in the Mail menu), click the “Junk Mail” icon, and check the box to “Enable junk mail filtering.” Carefully read the other choices in the pane and choose your options.
