To save a TextEdit file as a Word document

1.	Go to the File menu and choose “Save As….”
2.	In the File Format menu at the bottom of the Save As dialog box, choose “Word Format.” This automatically adds the Word extension, .doc, to the end of your file name. If you don't see the extension at the end of the file name—and you want to—make sure there is no checkmark next to “Hide Extension.”
