Internet Applications

Mac OS 9.1 includes two full-featured applications for accessing the Internet:

  • Outlook Express is a Microsoft program that enables you to send and receive e-mail and participate in Internet newsgroups.

  • Internet Explorer is a Microsoft program that enables you to browse Web sites and download files from FTP sites.

Tip

Outlook Express and Internet Explorer are set as the default e-mail, newsgroup, and Web browser programs. If you prefer to use other applications, be sure to change the appropriate settings in the Internet control panel, which I discuss earlier in this chapter.
