Using the Application Switcher
The Application Switcher offers another way to switch from one open application to another. It displays a floating palette with a button for each open application. Simply click a button to activate its application.
To display the Application Switcher

In the menu bar, position the mouse pointer on the name of the application that appears at the top of the Application menu.

Press the mouse button down and drag down. As you drag, the application menu appears. Then a gray rectangle appears to indicate that the menu is being "torn off" the menu bar (Figure 18).
