Startup & Shutdown Items
The System Folder includes two folders you can use to automatically open items:
Startup Items automatically open right after your computer starts up.
Shutdown Items automatically open just before your computer shuts down.
Tip
Need some ideas for using the Startup Items and Shutdown Items folders? Try these:
Put an alias of your calendar or to-do list document in the Startup Items folder so your calendar or to-do list opens when you're ready to get to work.
Put a sound file in the Startup Items folder so your computer can greet you with a recorded sound.
Put an alias of your backup application in the Shutdown Items folder so you're automatically given an opportunity to back up your work before quitting for the day.
