Printing

On a Mac OS system, printing is handled by the operating system rather than the individual applications. You choose the Print command in the application that created the document you want to print. Mac OS steps in, displaying the Print dialog box and telling the application how to send information to the printer. There are two main benefits to this:

  • If you can print documents created with one application, you can probably print documents created with any application on your computer.

  • The Page Setup and Print dialog boxes, which are generated by Mac OS, look very much the same in every application.
