Abstract:
This chapter concentrates on the work of Alverda Orlando, a librarian/historian who has brought the obscure industrial town of Davenport to fame through decades of ceaseless researching and writing which reflects the rise and decline of several of the main industries of the Greater San Francisco Bay Area and of Santa Cruz County.
