Filter media
Color filters – or ‘gels’, as they are usually called – are available in several forms. Some are made to close color specifications while others are less precise, and intended for more general use.
Colored glass
Sheets of colored glass (surface coated or dyed) have a number of disadvantages. Not only is glass expensive and fragile but it offers only a limited color range and is not very adaptable. Where colored low-power light bulbs (below 40 W) are needed for decorative signs, etc. within a setting, they are usually coated in a special lamp-dip solution. ...
