Ceph RGW servers offer a highly scalable API-style interface to data organized as objects contained within buckets. RESTful services compatible with both Amazon's S3 and OpenStack's Swift can be enabled, including direct integration with Keystone for multitenancy.
As with MDS, Ceph RGW components are optional; you do not need to provision them onto clusters that are intended to only provide block or file service.
